A Christ-Centred Community in the Heart of Sparwood

Sparwood Christian Centre is a welcoming Christian community centre serving individuals and families across Sparwood and the Elk Valley through worship, discipleship, practical care, and local outreach.

Our Story

Rooted in Sparwood Since 1978

Sparwood Christian Centre began as a small gathering of local families who wanted to build a place where worship, prayer, and neighbourly care could shape everyday life in the community. Over the years, that gathering grew into a multi-generational centre known for warm hospitality, practical support, and a steady commitment to Scripture.

As Sparwood changed and new families arrived in the region, the Centre continued to expand its role by offering ministry for children, youth, parents, seniors, and anyone seeking a place of belonging. Today, we remain committed to serving the town with faithfulness, compassion, and a local presence people can rely on.

What We Believe

Our ministry is shaped by historic evangelical Christian belief and by a desire to live that faith out with humility, conviction, and love in the local community.

Lead Pastor

Pastor Daniel Mercer

Pastor Daniel provides biblical teaching, shepherding care, and vision for the ministry life of Sparwood Christian Centre. He is passionate about helping families and new believers grow in a grounded, everyday faith.

Administrator

Administrator Rachel Bennett

Rachel oversees communications, volunteer coordination, facility scheduling, and practical support for many of the Centre's weekly programs and outreach efforts.
